Coal Tar Epoxy Coating Steel Pipe

Coal tar epoxy anti-corrosion coating is a kind of room temperature curing coating, which is made of modified epoxy resin, polyamide resin, coal tar pitch, pigment filler and additives. These coatings have strong adhesion and excellent chemical and water resistance. The coal tar in the coating is to improve the toughness and adhesion, prevent the asphalt coating crack, such as NO, CO ₂ gas dilute acid and alkali resistance. Epoxy resin is an important film-forming material for epoxy coal tar pitch. It has some features like strong adhesion, low shrinkage and good chemical stability.

Pigment packing can increase the thickness of the paint film, generally talc powder, zinc chrome, mica, iron oxide red, etc. Epoxy coal coating is an ideal anticorrosive coating for underground steel pipes, which can be used as an anti-corrosive coating on the outer wall of seawater or freshwater pipelines, underground petroleum pipelines and heat pipelines, as well as anticorrosive finishing paint for sewage treatment ponds, storage tanks and coal mine headframe. It can be used together with glass fiber cloth to form multi-layer, excellent corrosion resistance enhanced, or super strength coating. The buried steel pipelines can be well protected by epoxy coal tar coating for more than 50 years.
